Mobile Device Password Reset Help

We are aware of a current issue on some mobile devices where the password requirement helper text may not display correctly during the password reset process. We are actively working with our vendor on a fix.

Students experiencing issues on mobile devices are encouraged to reset their passwords using a campus computer lab or desktop computer for the best experience

If you are resetting your password on a mobile device:

  • Try rotating your phone to landscape mode
  • If available, use a desktop or laptop computer for the easiest experience

Account Lockouts

Too many failed login attempts may temporarily lock your account to help protect College of Marin systems and data.

  • Accounts are locked after 15 failed login attempts
  • Lockouts typically last 10 to 15 minutes

After the wait period, you may try logging in again or reset your password using the MyCOM portal.

Password Best Practices

To help keep your account secure:

  • Use unique passwords for different accounts
  • Never share your password with anyone
  • Change your password immediately if you think it has been compromised
  • Avoid saving passwords on shared or public computers
  • Store written passwords in a secure location and destroy them when no longer needed
